Mara Bodis-Wollner received her M.F.A. from Bard College 2004 and her B.F.A from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in Photography. She is represented by Jen Bekman Gallery. Her current work explores the manners, expressions, and body language of awkward moments and exclusivity in social venues. In 1999 Mara received a Fulbright Scholarship to Hungary. She has had various solo and group exhibitions. Her solo show at Jen Bekman Gallery in the fall of 2005 was reviewed in The New Yorker, The Voice and The Morning News. She is on the faculty at Tisch School of the Arts Department of Photography and Imaging, NYU and at the International Center of Photography. She attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture during the summer of 2007. She lives in Brooklyn, NY.
